Sound,

Meditation,

Space:

The Experience

“The performers are wonderful storytellers, utilising the energy of the audience and environment to provide a connection to language and the powerful soundscape is designed to be a whole-body experience. I was impressed with the passion and energy of the performances and completely mesmerised by the experience.”

From Janelle, theatre critic of Sydney’s Weekend Notes, after A Midsummer Night’s Dream, January 2023

THE EXPERIENCE...

Says Anthony Woolcott, Festival Director

St Albans Folk Festival,

of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, April 2023:

“The staging was creative and magical.

On the open sands of a river, the

lighting and sound worked brilliantly. The use of the space by the actors was inspired, and the audience were mesmerised for the entire time.”

and ANU English Lecturer Dr. Claire Hansen

on The Tempest, January 2023:

“At the conclusion of the play, spectators are invited to join the cast in a short meditation led by Jo Bloom. The meditation asked us to linger in that in-between state and to connect play, place and lived experience in a different way.”

THE TAKE AWAY...

Arts Hub critic Ann Foo, after watching The Tempest on 100 year old Tall Ship sailing Sydney Harbour, Jan 2023:

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shakespeare but not as you know it... The troupe had done the work for us, so all we needed to do was show up. Nourishment for the eyes, ears, nose and tongue and offered a weight off the heart and kinship with your fellow human beings.”

ONTO THE MAIN STAGE...

Sydney Morning Herald

critic John Shand

on the Macbeth production of August 2025 in The Concourse Chatswood:

“Gripping... the banquet scene works all the more effectively because we the audience are made to be the other guests. We’re drawn into the scene and consequently deeper into the terrors...

Willa King as the First Witch possesses such a commanding voice as could have made me, too, believe that I was fated to be Scottish King.”

and Sydney Arts Guide’s Lynn Belvedere says

about Macbeth at The Concourse Chatswood:

“Five stars. This production is a triumph for the ages, THE Macbeth, that is psychologically penetrating, and theatrically bold. With powerhouse performances, innovative staging, and relentless emotional intensity, this is Shakespeare at its most vital.”
